People who live in Las Vegas have a very distinct lifestyle and it is important for your safety and enjoyment to realize the way that things are done in Las Vegas. It is rumored that the population will double in just two years.

Las Vegas is frankly, an expensive place to live in. The tax rate is 7.75 per cent. Taxes on hotel rooms are up to 9 per cent. Insurance rates are very high compared to the national average, because many drivers are more aggressive compared to certain states. Las Vegas is a huge gambling city. This is a very significant source of revenue. However, the gambling and drinking may pose a problem. People who gamble and drink are more willing to take risks that can be potentially dangerous to the self or others. Crime rates can also be high in certain areas. It is advisable to always walk in well-lit areas near crowds, and to always consult a map. In high-traffic areas, Police officers are standing by for any assistance. Many people who have a criminal history live in Las Vegas, but they are required to register at the Sheriff Office within 24 hours of moving in to the city. Also, many people who have bad credit also live in Las Vegas. This is not a huge surprise, considering all of the vices in Las Vegas such as gambling.

What is great about Las Vegas is that you can choose the level of luxury you wish to live in. There are hotels and places ranging from affordable to out of this world. Some of the nicest and oldest hotels are located in Las Vegas. It is definitely a sight to see. Since the drivers in Las Vegas compete with New Yorkers, many people use public transportation or simply walk to places. For sightseeing, it is definitely an advantage to walk. There are certain areas in Las Vegas that are simply must-sees for tourists and movers a like.

The India project is a internet-startup I am currently working on with Mark Pringle investor from Kansas. Follow our progress, as we succeed or fail trying to make the biggest blog network on earth. This is our joint blog. It all started on February 26th about 10:30 pm when I told Mark Pringle about my idea for The India Project. He was sold form the very beginning, we agreed to start.

Scott Asher – CEO and President
A long time resident of Las Vegas, Scott was a professional craps and poker dealer for five years. A born risk taker, his dreams have been to build a network of websites with over-the-top profits. His proficiency in web design and developing, combined with his capabilties as a computer programmer, fed his keen sense of complex marketing strategies.

Scott and his family were living the typical Las Vegas lifestyle. When the bottom fell out of the economy this former professional poker player lost everything. The house was gone. The bank accounts were as parched as the Nevada deserts. For love and family – he refused to give up. Soon his son would be moving into adulthood and out on his own. And Scott was willing to take a gamble – laying all his cards on the table for a single dream. Realizing that few one-man-bands thrive, he expanded on the knowledge that Mark Pringle brought to the table so the two of them could turn The Biggest Blog Network on Earth into a profitable and successful venture.

Mark Pringle – CFO and Vice President
Mark and his wife were living in an ordinary Midwestern town, raising their young children. When the recession hit Mark lost his major clients and his successful property business nose dived. Mark was determined that if it meant working around the clock – he would climb back to the top.

A lifetime resident of Kansas, he holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree and has been an RN for nine years. Another risk taker, by the tender age of 19 he had already invested $80K in the stock market. He taught himself content management systems and is proficient in research and SEO solutions. After hiring Scott to work on the websites he was building the two quickly realized their similar goals should be combined to get The Biggest Blog Network on Earth off the ground, hence their partnership.

Renee Miller: Senior Writer
Renee Miller, the newest member of our team and senior writer. As well as providing quality articles, reviews and blogs Renee will also manage and oversee the quality of content submitted by other writers. She will work with us to see that articles are promoted through syndication, promotions and contests that she is eager to offer to readers and new fans of The Biggest Blog Network on Earth.

Renee maintained a 3.65 GPA in Communications at Auburn University at Montgomery until a second bout with cancer put an end to her education. Renee beat cancer and returned to her first love: writing. She shares that she can still recite the first poem she wrote when she was nine and grins, “If I’m not writing, I’m not breathing.” The only thing missing in her life was an outlet for her talent.
With no previously published work to show clients, Renee wrote for free or practically free in order to build her resume. If you’ve ever surfed the web, you’ve probably read her work. She’s had more than 550 articles published by eHow.com and was a featured guest writer in the January 2009 issue of Harlot’s Sauce Radio online magazine where she wrote of her experience with cancer.

What is surprising about this trio?

The imilarities they share. All three have come out of bankruptcy and have had to rebuild from scratch, after losing their homes. Scott and Mark flipped hundreds of houses professionally and Renee used the knowledge gained from her real estate courses into a way to raise her children in magnificent estates for the price the average person pays on a large apartment. Scott has experience as a journeyman roofer and owned three construction companies, Mark ran Superior Property Management LLC for three years and Renee and her husband owned Stanton Acoustical, a ceiling company, for two years.
The “not going to keep me down” attitude made it an obvious fit for these three strangers to connect and venture forward on the dream of a lifetime. While Scott and Mark have faced mostly financial setbacks and losses, Renee’s battles have been against cancer (she’s a two-time survivor) and her oldest son’s crippling diagnosis of schizophrenia. Some may question their unwavering trust in one another – but their gut instincts and life experiences have enabled them to weed out the posers and work together successfully. The dream these three share is to simply give their families the lives they deserve and more.

In the early to mid-nineties being a “PRO” poker player meant something else. Being a poker player was something that you didn’t tell your friends or parents. Not many people thought anyone could work playing poker everyday for a living, but poker was my ace in the hole. I enjoyed playing the mental game, sitting at a table with eight other people and playing for real money.

But while it was a very exciting time in my life, I will never forget the stress it put on me and my family life. The game consumed me for 15 years. It caused me internal conflicts over balancing the financial needs a family and the need to fuel those important relationships.

I really lost myself in the game.

My first exposure to poker was around 1989 outside Los Angles, in the gritty Club Gardena, in Gardena, CA. Today it is known as The Hustler.

Why I play poker - I have always been interested in the mathematical angles of playing cards, and I guess there is just something about a deck of cards and a few hundred dollar bills that gives me a thrill. And I guess there is something magical about wagering money, and free-rolling life. I think every poker player deep-down dreams of that magic, but only a few have the TRUE guts to really do it. history of a deck of cards.

Tournament Poker

I have had limited success playing tournament poker. I personally don’t like playing tournaments all that much. I play mostly cash games and some satellites. I will take shots at big money whenever it looks good.

Scott’s poker events and milestones:

• I once lost 40k in one night, not a fun night, and I happen to be single at the time. So, it was very long night.
• The biggest single pot I ever won, was with pocket-jacks, all-in against 3 players.
• Lake Elsinore Casino held these little weekend get-away poker events about 60 miles outside of Los Angles, the events would go all weekend long with event buy-ins ranging from $60.00-$220.00. If you paid it all up front, it might cost you $600.00 bucks for the whole weekend. One weekend I won all of the events.
• I also lived in that hotel for four months playing poker for a living like so many others poker players that pass through there. Lake Elsinore casino has been the pathway for so many of today’s top pros.
• The biggest poker game I every played in was a $300 – $600 limit hold’em.
• My biggest winning streak is winning 43 days in a row.
• I am not sure of the exact days on my longest losing streak, but it is in the 30 to 40-ish range of days. (it was long. trust me!)
